DESCRIPTION
This fast paced interactive session wil review the structure of the PDPM payment system and the conversion of assessment data and formats to the Oct 1 change date. Documentation, training and competency evaluation will be discussed. The impact of front line nursing documentation and restorative programs as they impact payment and planning. Operational strategies for the changes will be discussed
with case examples.


CONTACT HOURS
This program will provide participants the opportunity to earn up to (1) one contact hour for nurses and licensed nursing home administrators.
HCAM is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Wisconsin Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses
Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.


LEARNER OUTCOME
Participants will self report increased knowledge of the PDPM payment system and strategies for documentation and restorative programs.


LEARNER OBJECTIVES
1) Describe the specific payment and documentation changes October 1, 2019
2) Describe the training and competency evaluations for current staff, therapy and restorative team
3) Define the fiscal and budget changes necessary to support and transition to the new process

TARGET AUDIENCE
Long-term care directors of nursing, assistant directors of nursing, nurse managers, RNs and LPNs, administrators and corporate level & facility management.


FACULTY
Leah Klusch, RN, BSN, FACHCA, is the founder and director of The Alliance Training Center, an educational foundation focused on geriatric care issues in Alliance, Ohio. She is the author of numerous articles in industry journals, trade publications, books, video trainings and lectures nationally on current industry
